Top Corner

Lyrics

Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh Top corner! Shin guards on, socks pulled over my knees Orange slices in the cooler by the trees Score's tied up and the parents count it down Ball rolls loose way back on the other side of the ground Everybody's yelling, "Pass it! Pass it!" But I've done this a thousand times Plant my foot, lock my ankle Eyes up on that line Top corner! Watch it fly From the other side of the field, up so high Over the goalie's hands, right under the bar Top corner! Top corner! Nobody thought I could kick it that far In the backyard every night till the porch light's on I hung an old T-shirt where the top corner's gone Missed a hundred times, hit the fence and the shed Mom said, "One more, then it's time for bed" Everybody's yelling, "Pass it! Pass it!" But I've done this a thousand times Plant my foot, lock my ankle Eyes up on that line Top corner! Watch it fly From the other side of the field, up so high Over the goalie's hands, right under the bar Top corner! Top corner! Nobody thought I could kick it that far Three, two, one, and the whole team piles on Grass stains, high-fives, everybody sing along Oh-oh-oh, top corner! Oh-oh-oh, top corner! Top corner! Watch it fly From all the way back, up so high Over the goalie's hands, right under the bar Top corner! Top corner! Nobody thought I could kick it that far Now everybody knows I can kick it that far Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh Top corner!
