Lyrics
(Whoa-oh, whoa-oh) The first one... the first one tonight Friday lights and the grass is cold and wet Flags tucked in tight, I'm not tired yet One thing I've been waiting to do Was to catch one-handed, hander, one-hander, like I practiced after school When the QB threw the ball, it was spinning through the light Two kids ran towards me, trying to block the catch from me I reached out one hand... I started running, and at the end I did a barrel roll! Got the first one, the first one, the first one tonight! The first one, the first one, the first one tonight! I got the first touchdown tonight And I caught my first touchdown of the game (Whoa-oh) The first one tonight! Coach said, "Huddle up, send the best player that we've got" And everybody on my team looked right at me on the spot When I went on the field, there was a crowd waiting for me I said to myself, I never wanted to leave When the QB threw the ball, it was spinning through the light Everybody on their feet, every face was shining bright I reached out one hand... Got the first one, the first one, the first one tonight! The first one, the first one, the first one tonight! I got the first touchdown tonight And I caught my first touchdown of the game (Whoa-oh) The first one tonight! Can I please, can I please just keep playing in this game Before it ends, before the clock runs out Can I please, can I please just stay out here a little more Under the lights, with the crowd so loud Got the first one, the first one, the first one tonight! The first one, the first one, the first one tonight! I got the first touchdown tonight And I caught my first touchdown of the game Got the first one, the first one, the first one tonight! The first one, the first one, the first one tonight! Thanks for letting me do that Do that, do that Thanks for letting me do that The first one tonight
